This Master Fic List is Under Construction. I will be adding links in on a daily basis, so bear with me while I get this up to speed. It is probably 75% completed at this point.

Just briefly, we had an enormous three day windstorm here in NW Washington. A giant branch fell off our skyscraper of a cedar tree and hit the house, bounced off and almost hit the car. It was resting against the front bumper, that's how close it came. We still don't have power at home, so I'm not writing too much and won't be online much until we do. Which I hope is tonight. Because I have ideas again, but not enough battery power in my laptop to follow through on them. Thanks for all the prompts everyone. They helped get the creative juices flowing again.
The plotting part of my brain has gone completely dead. I mean completely. Anyone out there got some spare plots they care to part with? Something you've wanted to see me write that I haven't. (Not Tencest or OT3, please). I have a ficathon fic (Nine/Rose) I need to write and also the last birthday fic I intend to write for a very long time that still needs to be written. B'day fic ideas can be Nine, Ten, or Ten2. I usually have about 20 different ideas roaring around in my brain jostling for attention, but now...nothing.
I think I may be finished with the next chapter of HM on Sunday. I hope so. It seems *crosses fingers* to be going well.
Oh, and I see the surgeon on the 18th. I don't think I updated about that. We'll likely set the surgery date then. I really want to get it done this year. I'd like a functional knee by next spring.
Also, it's too early for snow. Do Not Want. I cannot wait to move to sea level.

Well, the question first. I haven't been on LJ in a few days because I've had the stomach virus to end all stomach viruses, but anyway, I came back to a couple of noms in my inbox from an awards site I've never heard of or seen anything about. It's called Words on the Wind and seems to represent a broad spectrum of supernatural/sci-fi/fantasy fanfiction. Has anyone heard of this or know anything about it? I'm just curious as it appears to be quite new.
As for the knee, I've got good news and bad news. The bad news is I still have to have surgery on it, but the good news is that the specialist says it is not an ACL tear, my GP read it wrong. It's a torn miniscus which is much easier to repair and doesn't require taking part of the pateller tendon for the repair. So they are going to go in and just cut off the part that is torn and remove some cartilege or bone that has broken off and is in there as well, and there's some kind of cyst that will come out, too. I'll be laid up in bed for four to five days and should be walking without crutches in a week. They reckon 2 to 3 weeks after that it should be pretty much normal (for walking at least, be a while before I can ride my bicycle again, but I don't do that in the winter anyway).
I'm just waiting to hear back from the surgeon's office for scheduling.

Chapter Thirty: Unexpected Progress
I'm really happy. I actually got 2020 words written on Hunger Moon today. I threw out most of what I had previously written on this chapter when I was still on Vicodin. Didn't like it now that I'm off narcotics. I think I may have a chapter ready by tomorrow or Wednesday. DH is taking the kids in to dance tomorrow and I'm staying home, which means I'll have at the very least four hours, possibly five to write tomorrow uninterupted. Oh, bliss. I can't even remember the last time I had both the time and the inclination to write at the same time. My goal is to finish this story by the end of the month so I really, really hope I can make some progress tomorrow.

If there were going to be an archeological dig in Wales, where is the most likely place for it? Somewhere where fossils or artifacts have been found in real life?
Laura, I have time to beta that Torchwood fic this week but I can't find the new chapter. I thought I'd saved it, but I guess not. Can you resend?
What is Sarah Jane Smith's address? I know it's Bannerman Road but what's the street number? Thanks!
It's been a long day. The good news is that Victoria is now home from the hospital and doing pretty well. She's tired and in pain but in remarkably good spirits. The bad news is I got the results from my MRI and it is indeed an ACL tear and damanged cartilege. So the doctor was going to set up an appointment with a specialist and then call me back with the info but I never heard back from him again today so I'll have to call on Monday...and I hate talking on the phone. I'm slightly phobic about it if it's not Chris, Mom, or MIL. And by slightly I mean a lot. I hate initiating phone calls. Put a keyboard in front of me and I'm great. Put a talkie device to my ear and not so much.
Oh, well. So I've finished the latest Crossing Boundaries story so I'm going to focus on Hunger Moon the rest of this week and next. I'd really like to get it finished before I do any more serious work on A Sky Without Stars. I think I can finish it this month if I don't let myself get distracted by oneshots and the like. I'm taking a break from writing birthday fics for a while. I might do drabbles but I don't know. I just really want to focus on the epics for a while. I've got so many open stories and I hate that. I've got a while before the next ficathon fic is due, so I can really focus on HM.

Title: The Boundaries of Temptation
Series: Crossing Boundaries (#3)
Author:
Characters/Pairings: Nine/Rose, Ten, Donna, Jackie
Genre: Romance, Angst, Smut (of the needy, possessive, dominant!Nine sort)
Rating: Adult
Betas:
Summary: Rose has a wedding to attend and the Doctor doesn't want to go, nor is he ready to come out to Rose's mother about their relationship as lovers. The Tenth Doctor, still reeling from the loss of Rose and desperately wanting to see her again after one brief hour meddling in his own past, decides that the wedding will be a perfect place to steal time with her again, but Donna isn't so sure.
A/N: Rose discovers just how alien the Doctor is, and doesn't care. Full bonding is achieved. Not work appropriate or child friendly chapter. I believe this completes all of my Support Stacie obligations. If I've somehow forgotten one, be sure to let me know.

Chapter Six: Revelation and Reward
( Not Work or Child Friendly )
Since Victoria is ill, I need a third pair of eyes to run over the last chapter of The Boundaries of Temptation. I have sent it to Amy, but I've gotten used to using two betas so... *shrugs* Any volunteers?
ETA: Corusca's doing it. Thanks.
ETA: Corusca's doing it. Thanks.
She had an emergency appendectomy early this morning. She's weak and tired and has to stay in the hospital for 24 to 48 hours to recover, but is feeling a lot better. I passed on everyone's get well wishes to her. She really appreciated them.
Victoria, aka
jeprdyfrndly, is really ill. Peter just called me to say he's taking her to the emergency room because her fever spiked to 104 and she's delirious. She's been sick for a couple of days but today was really bad. She'd been resisting going all day, but now she's too weak to fight him on it. I'm really worried. In the two years I've known V, she's gotten sick exactly once with food poisoning right after coming back from her honeymoon. She's the healthiest person I know. I wish they had family around here. I'm the closest thing they have around here.

A/N: After dropping Donna off, Rose and Nine have a few things to talk about. Part of this chapter is not appropriate for work or to be read around children. Chapter five just got too long so I've split it into two parts. But six will be the last chapter. Honest. Then I'll finish the next chapter of HM.

Chapter Five: Validation of Relationships
( Read more... )
Well, I just sent ch. 5 of The Boundaries of Temptation off to Amy and Victoria to be beta'd, so that should be up some time tomorrow. There will be a chapter six. It just got too long to be a single chapter at over 5000 words, but it is almost done. I'm just finishing up the smut. There's a wee bit of smut in chapter five and then chapter six will have the main event. It is nice to have my muse back. The rest of the week will then be spent finishing this next chapter of Hunger Moon. It's adventure heavy which seems to take quite a lot longer to write than relationship dialogue and smut.
As for my knee, I had an MRI on Friday and I won't know the results of it until Wednesday. It is feeling better. Still quite painful but I am off the Vicodin (hence the ability to focus and write again) and am taking only 800 mg of Ibuprofen now and I still ice it because that gives the best relief. I still have to use the cane to go up and down stairs and to stand up and sit down or for walking for too long, but I don't have to use it in the house. The swelling has gone way down. It has locked into place a couple of times but it doesn't stay there for long, so my hope that it was a more temporary injury I don't think is going to be right. Still, it's better. I am continuing to take it easy and use a chair for cooking and for the most part I keep the leg up and elevated as much as possible.
I wanted to say thank you to everyone who has written in with their sympathetic comments. I don't have the energy to answer them all. I wish I did. But I appreciate each and every single one. You don't know how much it has all meant to me. I will be getting to the comments on the last chapter of Temptation soon, though.
I've managed to catch a cold along with my kids this week. So far it's not too bad, so I am trying to get lots of sleep before it becomes a full-fledged nasty something or other. And taking vitamin C. I don't care that they say it hasn't been proven to help. It helps me and that's good enough for me. Chris comes home Thursday, thank goodness!
Oh, and for those who were wondering, I did get new tires. I was a bit miffed that since it was an all-wheel drive car I couldn't just buy two new tires, I had to buy all four. Some kind of law about all the treads needing to be the same or something. *sighs* Expensive! But the brakes are fine. The brake light was coming on because of the spare tire not being the same as the other tires. They ran them through the diagnostic and nothing was wrong. So now I just have to schedule an oil change and an alignment and then I can stop worrying about the car for a few months. I hope.

I feel so...I don't know, right now. Disembodied? Detached? It's hard to find the words. I just...gah, don't know. I have my third doctor's visit tomorrow for my knee. I am still in so much pain it's ridiculous. I'm not writing. I'm barely reading and even then, it's like, review? What review? I'm supposed to leave comments. I think that's what I used to do. *sighs* It makes me feel bad not to be...enthusiastic in fandom. And I'm missing reading so many good things but I can't concentrate. I hate being at a loss for words. Words are my friend and suddenly they're just gone.
( An adventure I did not need... )
( An adventure I did not need... )
I'm trying to write possessive Nine/Rose smut for the last chapter of Temptation, but I think the Vicodin is interfering. *sighs* They're getting shmoopy instead. Shmoopy and seriously...well, I'm not using this icon for nothing. Just...bad. Maybe I just need to turn on a dime and make it sweetly romantic, but not shmoopy. So I've tried working on other stuff to get me out of this haze. Been working a bit on Hunger Moon, been working a bit on A Sky Without Stars, been working a bit on a new one that seems to be skirting perilously close to OT3 (Nine, Rose, Jack) which I don't really even like most of the time, though there are a few authors I will read it from. Did a couple of paragraphs on You're What? Did a couple paragraphs on Of the Vortex Born. Worked a little on Chaste Moon, the sequel to Hunger Moon which isn't even done yet. Wrote three paragraphs on Brick Walls. *sighs* Gee, I'm beginning to see that my problem is I have no attention span on narcotics.
